CodeMeld is an agentic code editor for your terminal. It works with OpenRouter, Venice or your ChatGPT plan, with any version control, and you stay in control of what it is allowed to do.
CodeMeld is in active development. There is no binary release yet; you build it from source.
Use models through OpenRouter, Venice or your ChatGPT plan. If a provider blocks you, raises prices or goes down, switch and keep working.
Git, Mercurial and Jujutsu work out of the box. You can add any other version control system yourself, without waiting for a new release.
Approve a command once in a folder and you are not asked again when the same command is written differently. You choose how long an approval lasts, it applies only where you gave it, and there is no approve-everything mode.
No telemetry, analytics, crash reports or update checks. CodeMeld connects only to the provider you choose and the websites you approve.
No runtime, package manager or container to set up. It runs on Linux today, with FreeBSD and macOS planned.
Your settings, approvals and session history are kept in plain files you can read, so you can check what you have allowed and what was said.
